Halloween and Thanksgiving..etc

It has been a while since I have written so I will do a quick update. Halloween was a lot of fun. At work we all dressed up as " Where's Waldo" characters. At night Tony and I dressed as Jedi's and went out to dinner with our neighbors Ryan and Sarah Shaw. After dinner we came home and played the Wii. Last year we only got 2 trick or treaters, this year we got about 7 or 8 groups of kids. We were so excited to actually have kids come, plus we didn't have all that leftover candy like last year.

Thanksgiving did not go so well. This year was our year to go to Tony's parents house. They had invited us over to dinner. Throughout the day the time for us to come out was delayed a couple of times. When we finally got to go out it was 6:45 and there was no dinner as we had thought there would be, since we had been invited for "dinner". We got home at about 8:30 and made a quick trip to Walmart to buy what we could to still try to have a little Thanksgiving dinner together. It was a sad little dinner, but oh well we did our best. I think maybe someday I will be able to look back at it and laugh. On Saturday (Nov 29) we went down to SLC together and did a little Christmas shopping. We also had some gift cards to The Roof Restaurant from my work so we got to go there for dinner. It was so good, and it was so beautiful and romantic to have the SLC temple right outside the window next to us. I think that The Roof definitely made up for the Thanksgiving mishap. Tony and I also went to Gateway and wandered around a bit before our dinner reservation, we walked past Build-A-Bear and spontaneously decided to go in and make some bears. It was a lot of fun, and I am glad that we did it even though it's mostly for kids :)

Well that is the update for now. I will try to write more often than once every 2-3 months...oops :) I am also considering changing this to a private blog, so if you want to be able to read it please send me your email address.

Weddings, and my new goal

The past couple weeks have been great. It seems like almost every weekend we have a wedding reception to go to. A couple weeks ago 2 of my cousins got married, a day apart from eachother. It was really fun to have so much family together, and to get to catch up with everyone. Yesterday was fun, we went down to Salt Lake and spent the day shopping and we got to see my mom, then that night we went to Steph Call's wedding. Her wedding was at the Market Street Grill and it was so good! It's been a lot of fun to see so many weddings lately, I keep thinking back to our wedding day and how wonderful it was, and what a great man I married. This week at work we started our Active For Life program, and so far I think I am doing really well. One of our goals is to walk 10,000 steps a day which is about 5-6 miles a day. I wear a pedometer everywhere now :) So far I have been keeping up with it, which is hard sometimes when it's 8 PM and you still have 3000 steps or so to go. So I just go outside and walk around our horseshoe over and over until I hit my 10,000 step mark. Tony just laughs at me and says "you don't really have to get 10,000, it's ok if you don't make it every day", but I am determined to stick to my goal because I really want to get back in shape. I figured out that it is about 3800 steps to work so if I walk there and back everyday that will almost complete my daily steps. My legs are really sore, but in a good way!! I am really excited for this program because it is really helping motivate me, plus I have really good support since everyone at my work is striving for the same thing.

Almost back to normal

On Saturday we went to SLC for my work BBQ, then we went to my moms house for a few mins. It was really fun! The only problem is that at about 4 am Sunday I woke up sick to my stomach. It was terrible! I was throwing up from about 4 am to 7 pm. I think I got food poisoning, but I don't know what it was from since no one else that I know of was sick from the BBQ. Monday I forced myself to go to work, which was really hard because I still felt pretty queasy. Today my stomach is still hurting and I can't eat much, but I think I am getting over it. I have pretty much been living on sprite and chicken broth..ha ha. Tony just started school again for the semester and I am excited that this should be his last year!!

so I caved in...

I didn't plan on making a blog, but I have been persuaded so we will see how it goes :) I will do my best to update it often. This is one of my favorite wedding pictures. I have been married for a little over a year to Tony Thornley and it has been great! We have a lot of fun together. Right now we are living in Logan, but hopefully next summer we will be able to move to SLC. Tony is going to school at USU right now and will be graduating from the Business program next summer. I am just currently working full time at the bank, so I am staying busy.
